Life in this wild world

Hi friends,

I'm writing this on a Monday, when all around the world people are protesting, fighting Covid-19, trying to make sense of recent events, and some are simply surviving. I hold all of you in my heart as I know we are the midst of a necessary shift and it is messy but worth it.

In the midst of all this I am left a bit awestruck and speechless, and yet I must keep moving forward, one foot in front of the other, ask the hard questions, explore my role in the ongoing racial disparity that continues to separate us, and revel in whatever joy comes my way. Here are my updates as we ease into summer 2020.

Kai is growing fast, he is now 11/12 weeks old and is having lots of new experiences to orient him safely to this big world. He is curious, joyful, alert, cautious, silly, and full of love.I am in love.

I got him this awesome agility tunnel and he LOVES it! He runs through it, he plays in it, he jumps on it. He loves the sound it makes when he crashes into and through it, and it makes everyone laugh to watch him revel in the awesomeness.

I am also enjoying that here in BC we get to expand our bubbles a bit and see a few more friends - I have missed them! Also, the tennis courts are open! YAY! And, it's lovely just to sit in the beautiful backyard and enjoy playing with Kai.

I also want to let you know that the second round of the Deeper Connection Challenge is about to start on JUNE 8!  The challenge is all about using curiosity to help us create better relationships and better lives. Here's what the first round participants had to say:

"The time with Sue and our pod flew by. Each day of learning rang like a clear bell of mindfulness that resonates beyond our 21 days together. Whether you are a seasoned coach or new to the practice, Sue's challenge will give you the space to pause and remember why you do this work."

"This week I have seen so many things that i need to fine tune in my coaching. It's so awesome to feel empowered and excited about tackling weak spots."

"This challenge has helped me reach out and get closer to people through listening to what they are truly saying."

"I have gotten so much from the connection challenge; I would say among the top five is the weight and responsibility to be curious and to inspire curiosity in others."

I've partnered with a really cool platform called Obii to make it really easy for you to participate. Why would you want to do this?

  • Do you want to be more open and curious?

  • Do you want the people in your life to feel seen and heard?

  • Do you want to be a better listener?

  • Can your relationships be better?

I've chosen this theme because in these challenging times it's even more important to be curious, and not make assumptions about what's true, and not judge people for their actions.  Now more than ever it's a time for us to be good listeners and be there for each other.

So what will you get out of this?

A renewed awareness of when you're making assumptions and judgments that are getting in your way and in the way of creating better relationships.

A tune-up on your listening skills.

Some serious flexing of your curiosity muscle.

AND if you collect enough points, free coaching.

And it takes only 10 to 15 minutes a day.

So if you're curious and want to go further click this link to sign up.

The challenge begins on June 8 and it's only $49 US and if you sign up by end of day Wednesday June 8th use the code JUNE10 to get $10 off . I urge you to invite friends to do this with you so that you can share your experiences as you go along and help each other stay on track through the 21 days, and beyond if you choose. Having two or three accountability partners can make this even more fun, but it's not required.

If you're still reading, thank you for hanging in there and being curious. Once again here's the link, sign up by June 8th!

Be calm, be kind, be safe.
